The reach of technology is expanding into increasingly sensitive and complex realms, and as technologists, we must consider what responsibilities we have to those who use the technology we build, as well as those who are invisible during the design process. This talk will present the Responsible Tech Playbook, a strategy manual to start creating responsible technology from the beginning and at every stage of a project. These tools can help prevent these drastic consequences from multiple perspectives, increasing the likelihood that harmful or unintended consequences will be discovered.
The talk will invite us to reflect on our responsibility when creating software and to discuss tools and techniques to help teams to be more inclusive, aware of prejudices, transparent and mitigate unwanted negative consequences.
